LEARNING METHODOLOGY

The creatively planned lessons lay a foundation of theory brought to life through experiential and practicum opportunities where the classroom be-comes the laboratory. All this is done through engaging activities like

The curriculum helps students understand and put into practice healthy habits, which with daily repetition, become part of the students’ personali-ties and characters. It thus helps them develop into whole, well-rounded in-dividuals.

Teach Peace - Reach Peace utilises a three-pronged teaching methodology:

Meditation
  1. A Peace curriculum that is made available to partner institutions in the form of published text books, instruction manuals and student workbooks.
  2. A thorough ‘Train the Trainer’ model to equip the schools’ staff and administrators with the skills needed to teach, supervise, monitor and guide the students, and guide students.
  3. A parallel monitoring and assessment of the process and outcomes based on success measures that have been developed

IMPLEMENTATION

Schools that implement the 'Teach Peace - Reach Peace' programme become “partner institutions” and will adopt the peace curriculum in its present form.

The school agrees to:
  1. Begin each day with a 10-minute meditation session in all classrooms.
  2. Allocate and dedicate a specific class period during the day for the peace curriculum; these periods will be of the same duration as all other subjects.
  3. Make available select staff for the inaugural "train the trainer" training sessions.
  4. Be receptive to feedback and implement process improvements based on regular assessments.

Glimpses of Training

  • Harbingers of Change: A curriculum in compliance with the National Education Policy
  • Today, the world might be inter-connected through numerous means of communications, but deep within we are all in search of peace and compas-sion. Recently, the Indian government, in its new National Education Policy, and even global institutes like Unesco, embraced value-based programmes built on the foundation of truth, nonviolence, peace, respect for all, com-passion, forgiveness and equality.
We at Darshan Education Foundation and ‘Teach Peace - Reach Peace’ have been the harbingers of such a change since last 25 plus years. Peace, love, compassion, truthfulness, selfless service are the cornerstones of our unique, spiral curriculum, that increases in depth with each passing year. Through our specially-designed curriculum, children are made aware of the various aspects of these virtues, in commensurate with their age and learn-ing ability. Gradually, these values become a way of life for our students who carry forward these skills in every aspect of life.
